Cracker Barrel Broccoli Cheddar Chicken

Cracker Barrel Broccoli Cheddar Chicken

Ingredients
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 can of Campbell's Cheddar Cheese Soup
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cups Ritz Crackers (one sleeve)
4 tablespoons of melted butter (you can use more)
8 ounces frozen broccoli
4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Make can of Cheddar cheese soup mix according to package directions (one can of soup mix to one can of milk).
Place chicken breasts in a baking dish. Season with seasoned salt. Pour 3/4 of the prepared soup over the chicken breasts. Add broccoli to chicken that has been covered with the cheddar soup. Melt butter and combine with Ritz crackers, sprinkle buttered crackers over the broccoli.
Add remaining soup mix, and bake for approximately 45 minutes or until the chicken is done. (Check chicken by cutting the thickest part and look to see that the chicken is uniform in color).
When chicken has been removed from oven sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.

All my life I've struggled

All my life I've struggled ...
I used to eat because I was SAD...
I used to eat because I was MAD...
I used to eat because I was BORED...

Maybe you can relate? ...

After almost losing my father at age 12, food became my drug...

You've been through rough times in your life too right?

You see I haven't always been a "health nut"...

In fact, I've fallen FLAT ON MY FACE more times than I can count...

And I'm still not perfect...

Nobody is right?

But if there's one thing I DO KNOW..

It is EXACTLY what it takes to lose a ton of weight...
what it takes to resist temptation...
what it takes to overcome food addiction...
what it takes to stay motivated and consistent...
what it takes to break bad habits...
what it takes to achieve lasting results...

How do I know you ask?

Because I've done it...

Here's my proof if you haven't seen it:

The first thing I want to do is Thank You in advance for taking the time to read my emails...

From the bottom of my heart, it really means a lot...

All I want is for YOU to experience the BODY, the ENERGY, and the CONFIDENCE you deserve! ...

Don't you want that?

And I know for a fact that if you stay connected with me over the next week and keep opening my emails...

You WILL be on your way to the BODY, the ENERGY, and the CONFIDENCE you deserve! ...

Does that sound good?

Okay perfect...

So here's THE FIRST thing you need to know...

if you don't know WHAT your goal is or more importantly WHY you want to achieve it, you might as well be flailing in the wind....

That is why My First Law Of A No Fail Successful Transformation is to FIND YOUR WHY!!

I promise if you can figure this out, and always remind yourself of it... you will be SHOCKED at what you're able to do! ...

But whatever you do, DON'T MISS MY EMAIL TOMORROW!

Because tomorrow I'm going to share some pretty DEEP STUFF with you!

Be sure to check out my website to see how you can get a kickstart on your weight loss!
With LOVE always,
Amber Davis

Are Sugar Substitutes Worse Than Real Sugar?

Are Sugar Substitutes Worse Than Real Sugar?

Sugar has been labeled the bad guy for many years, but new research suggests that low-calorie, artificial sweeteners could be even worse.

Artificial sweeteners have taken over at the supermarket and the coffee shop, turning up in everything from sodas to ice cream and yogurt. These supposed "diet-friendly" options emerged to give consumers low-calorie alternatives to real sugar.

But a recent study from York University in Toronto suggests that sugar substitutes, particularly aspartame, could lead to an increased risk of diabetes if you're overweight. Researchers surveyed more than 2,800 American adults and asked them to recall their diet for the past 24 hours. Based on their eating habits, they were categorized and placed into groups as either consumers of artificial sugars (aspartame or saccharin) or real sugar (glucose and fructose).

The researchers then looked at how well the participants' bodies were able to break down the different kinds of sugar. They found that the digestion of aspartame impaired the body's ability to regulate glucose levels in obese individuals, but not in those who were considered lean. The study authors did not find the same negative side effects in people (of any weight) who consumed regular sugar, saying that this may support "the notion that it is calories, as opposed to sugar, that may be leading to obesity and increased diabetes risk."

What are artificial sweeteners anyway? Are you eating them?
Artificial sweeteners are chemically made sugar substitutes. They tend to taste sweeter than natural sugars. According to Mayo Clinic, artificial sweeteners include: acesulfame potassium (Sunett, Sweet One), aspartame (Equal, NutraSweet), saccharin (Sugar Twin, Sweet'N Low) and sucralose (Splenda). (Is Using Splenda a Danger to Your Health?) Novel sweeteners, which are sweeteners made from a combination of various kinds of sweeteners, include stevia extracts (Pure Via, Truvia), Naturlose, and Trehalose.

And in case you were wondering, natural sugar comes in many forms, such as agave nectar, date sugar, fruit juice concentrate, honey, maple syrup, and molasses.

Which kind of sugar is the best choice?
With all the options available—I mean, just look at the selection above—it can be incredibly confusing when you're shopping for a sweetener. In general, natural sugar is a good choice because your body will not always be able to recognize and metabolize synthetic or artificial sweeteners. Additionally, these sugar alternatives offer no value other than acting as a lower-calorie option for those who are watching their weight. So, bottom line: Whatever type of sugar you decide to sprinkle in your coffee is up to you, just use it sparingly.

Happy Wednesday!!!

Yay! You are halfway through the week and this song will make you feel good! It definitely moved me to tears....what is pushing you to become better and more successful?

Exercise of the week: Single Leg Squat

This exercise can be very difficult if you were to do it on its own or using dumbbells or a barbell. If you have access to a hack squat machine where you can rest your back against it, the exercise becomes easier, yet challenging enough, just like in the picture below:
This exercise is great for building symmetry between your legs.  Single-leg squats can also be a great way to detect imbalances between your legs and will help you identify which leg is stronger / weaker. It also improves overall balance and proprioception (your body's ability to sense stimuli regarding its position, motion & balance).

You can use the variation in the video to target glute and hamstrings by putting most of the weight on to the heel.

Here's how to do it:

1.) Step under the pad with back firmly pushed against the backrest.
2.) Choose an appropriate weight (keep it light) and place one foot on to the platform and the other one off the ground.
3.) Lower down slowly by bending the knee and hip while keeping most of the weight on your heel.
4.) On the return up, drive through the foot, pushing it away from you while extending the leg.
