I cant believe I am sharing this

At 8 years old my Step-Mom used to keep this jar of cookies...
I didn't become 50 pounds overweight overnight...

At 8 years old my step mom used to keep this jar of cookies and we were only allowed to have 2 cookies at lunch....

They were the most AMAZING cookies...homemade right

Ya know how grandmas cookies were always the best? Well Mom's cookies were just like that to me!

... but without fail I would sneak in to the kitchen everyday while my nieces and nephews were outside playing and tried sneak so many and take back to my bedroom so no one would notice.

Just enough to where she wouldn't even notice...

Have you ever snuck food before? Hopefully im not the only one ;) ...

But that cookie jar is where it all started...

My addiction turned into sitting in front of the TV at 21 years old with a box of Sweedish fish (before they had the 4 pound bags) and a giant bag of Middlesworth chips the BBQ kettle cooked...

thats ALOT of food right? well it just went from bad to worse...

Eating an entire carton of ice cream

To having an ENTIRE pizza by myself...

Crazy right?

I SERIOUSLY didn't even realize what i had gotten myself into.

It wasn't until this one day in 2013

Have you ever had something hit you all at once before?

It was a few summers after I had my second child and the kids had been wanting to go to the town pool

Up until that point I had been hiding behind baggy clothes and flowy shirts....

It was the first time in my life I had to wear a bikini cover up because I was too embarrassed...

Maybe you've had a similar experience?

With a shrouding feeling of disappointment I had to ask my mom for the cover up...

*See the Actual Picture Below* ...

Have you ever smiled on the outside, but on the inside you were far from happy?

Looking at that picture it's REALLY HARD to imagine being back there...

My life is so different now...

Do you have something you want to change about yourself?

Lose weight? Get toned? Have more energy? More confidence?

I believe we ALWAYS need to love ourselves where were at...

And BECAUSE we love ourselves, we always work to better ourselves...

Does that make sense?

Hopefully after Wednesday's email you were able to figure out your "why"...

Once you know "why" you're working towards your goal...

You need to put that motivation into ACTION!...

And unfortunately for me, that's where I got STUCK...

Ever felt stuck before?

I had NO IDEA what I needed to do to lose the weight...

I didn't know how many calories to eat, how much to workout, what to eat...

It all really felt so overwhelming...

I was used to just pulling up to Wendy's and ordering a spicy chicken sandwhich, a bacon cheeseburger and a large fry with a large frosty lol...

But I knew I had to change...

Thats why my  Law Of A No Fail Successful Transformation is to FOLLOW A PROVEN GAMEPLAN!

I wasted so much time trying to "figure it all out" instead of just finding someone who already figured it out and just do what they did! ...

Is this making sense?

Click Here to watch a short video explaining this in a little more detail...

I just really wish I knew all of this when I started my journey.. LOL!

You know what I mean?!

But to be completely honest with you...

There is really ONE THING that helped me the MOST...

Out of all the tips, tricks, and advice I've heard...

With the exception of being able to follow my own Proven Gameplan...

This ONE THING was a gamechanger for me...

and I can't wait to tell you what it is in tomorrow's email!
;)

IT's FRIDAY...

I find it appropriate that the theme of our morning mentor chat today to be about our CHOICES.
So let me ask you a question:
When faced with a choice… do you choose taking hard action or to make the easy excuse?
Action For Today:
Over the past week name three times when you chose the easy excuse over taking the hard action:
1) ___________________________
2) ___________________________
3) ___________________________
Today, what hard action will you take where making the easy excuse would have been compelling?
1) ___________________________
2) ___________________________
3) ___________________________
Today, do it HARD.

What hard choice will you make today? Share with us in the comments below.

All my life I've struggled

All my life I've struggled ...
I used to eat because I was SAD...
I used to eat because I was MAD...
I used to eat because I was BORED...

Maybe you can relate? ...

After almost losing my father at age 12, food became my drug...

You've been through rough times in your life too right?

You see I haven't always been a "health nut"...

In fact, I've fallen FLAT ON MY FACE more times than I can count...

And I'm still not perfect...

Nobody is right?

But if there's one thing I DO KNOW..

It is EXACTLY what it takes to lose a ton of weight...
what it takes to resist temptation...
what it takes to overcome food addiction...
what it takes to stay motivated and consistent...
what it takes to break bad habits...
what it takes to achieve lasting results...

How do I know you ask?

Because I've done it...

Here's my proof if you haven't seen it:

The first thing I want to do is Thank You in advance for taking the time to read my emails...

From the bottom of my heart, it really means a lot...

All I want is for YOU to experience the BODY, the ENERGY, and the CONFIDENCE you deserve! ...

Don't you want that?

And I know for a fact that if you stay connected with me over the next week and keep opening my emails...

You WILL be on your way to the BODY, the ENERGY, and the CONFIDENCE you deserve! ...

Does that sound good?

Okay perfect...

So here's THE FIRST thing you need to know...

if you don't know WHAT your goal is or more importantly WHY you want to achieve it, you might as well be flailing in the wind....

That is why My First Law Of A No Fail Successful Transformation is to FIND YOUR WHY!!

I promise if you can figure this out, and always remind yourself of it... you will be SHOCKED at what you're able to do! ...

But whatever you do, DON'T MISS MY EMAIL TOMORROW!

Because tomorrow I'm going to share some pretty DEEP STUFF with you!

Are Sugar Substitutes Worse Than Real Sugar?

Are Sugar Substitutes Worse Than Real Sugar?

Sugar has been labeled the bad guy for many years, but new research suggests that low-calorie, artificial sweeteners could be even worse.

Artificial sweeteners have taken over at the supermarket and the coffee shop, turning up in everything from sodas to ice cream and yogurt. These supposed "diet-friendly" options emerged to give consumers low-calorie alternatives to real sugar.

But a recent study from York University in Toronto suggests that sugar substitutes, particularly aspartame, could lead to an increased risk of diabetes if you're overweight. Researchers surveyed more than 2,800 American adults and asked them to recall their diet for the past 24 hours. Based on their eating habits, they were categorized and placed into groups as either consumers of artificial sugars (aspartame or saccharin) or real sugar (glucose and fructose).

The researchers then looked at how well the participants' bodies were able to break down the different kinds of sugar. They found that the digestion of aspartame impaired the body's ability to regulate glucose levels in obese individuals, but not in those who were considered lean. The study authors did not find the same negative side effects in people (of any weight) who consumed regular sugar, saying that this may support "the notion that it is calories, as opposed to sugar, that may be leading to obesity and increased diabetes risk."

What are artificial sweeteners anyway? Are you eating them?
Artificial sweeteners are chemically made sugar substitutes. They tend to taste sweeter than natural sugars. According to Mayo Clinic, artificial sweeteners include: acesulfame potassium (Sunett, Sweet One), aspartame (Equal, NutraSweet), saccharin (Sugar Twin, Sweet'N Low) and sucralose (Splenda). (Is Using Splenda a Danger to Your Health?) Novel sweeteners, which are sweeteners made from a combination of various kinds of sweeteners, include stevia extracts (Pure Via, Truvia), Naturlose, and Trehalose.

And in case you were wondering, natural sugar comes in many forms, such as agave nectar, date sugar, fruit juice concentrate, honey, maple syrup, and molasses.

Which kind of sugar is the best choice?
With all the options available—I mean, just look at the selection above—it can be incredibly confusing when you're shopping for a sweetener. In general, natural sugar is a good choice because your body will not always be able to recognize and metabolize synthetic or artificial sweeteners. Additionally, these sugar alternatives offer no value other than acting as a lower-calorie option for those who are watching their weight. So, bottom line: Whatever type of sugar you decide to sprinkle in your coffee is up to you, just use it sparingly.

Happy Wednesday!!!

Yay! You are halfway through the week and this song will make you feel good! It definitely moved me to tears....what is pushing you to become better and more successful?

Exercise of the week: Single Leg Squat

This exercise can be very difficult if you were to do it on its own or using dumbbells or a barbell. If you have access to a hack squat machine where you can rest your back against it, the exercise becomes easier, yet challenging enough, just like in the picture below:
This exercise is great for building symmetry between your legs.  Single-leg squats can also be a great way to detect imbalances between your legs and will help you identify which leg is stronger / weaker. It also improves overall balance and proprioception (your body's ability to sense stimuli regarding its position, motion & balance).

You can use the variation in the video to target glute and hamstrings by putting most of the weight on to the heel.

Here's how to do it:

1.) Step under the pad with back firmly pushed against the backrest.
2.) Choose an appropriate weight (keep it light) and place one foot on to the platform and the other one off the ground.
3.) Lower down slowly by bending the knee and hip while keeping most of the weight on your heel.
4.) On the return up, drive through the foot, pushing it away from you while extending the leg.
